REAL ALES BREWED

Hilden Ale

HILDEN ALE ABV 4.0%

A fine full drinking Irish ale, refreshingly clean on the palate.  It has a pronounced hoppiness which arrives at the end of the taste which makes the second pint even more desirable than the first. Champion Beer, Belfast Beer Festival 2004.

Hilden Halt

HILDEN HALT ABV 6.1%

A premium traditional Irish red ale with a malty, mild hop flavour.  This special reserve derives its name from the local train stop which used to service the local linen mill.

Scullions Irish Ale

SCULLION's IRISH ABV 4.6%

A bright amber ale, smooth initially with a slight taste of honey which is balanced by a long dry aftertaste which lingers on the palate. Scullion's Irish was judged the "best Irish Cask Beer" and "Supreme Champion Beer" at the Irish Independent Brewers Festival in Dublin, March 2000 by Michael Jackson.

Silver

SILVER ABV 4.2%

A pale ale, light and refreshing on the palate but with a satisfying mellow hop character, derived from a judicious blend of aromatic Saaz hops.

Blonde

BELFAST BLONDE ABV 4.7%

A wholly natural blonde beer with a clean and refreshing character, derived from the use of Lager Malt along with a small proportion of maize. The Mixture of continental and native varities of late and early addition hops please both the nasal senses and the taste buds.

Headless Dog

HEADLESS DOG ABV 4.3%

A bright amber ale, smooth initially with a slight hint of the Munich malt coming through from the grist. This is complemented well by the stronger refreshing taste from this well hopped beer. Named after the unusual mural of a headless dog at the front door to the brewery.

TWISTED HOP 4.7%

A pale ale, made with Australian Galaxy hops and German Brewer's Gold Hops.

BARNEY'S BREW 5.0%

A stronger ale, made from malted barley, wheat, cardamom, coriander and black pepper. Named after Barney Hughes - famous for the Belfast Bap.

HILDEN NUMBER FOUR 4.4%

A russet coloured beer using Topaz hops (three additions) and Galaxy hops and four malt varieties. A real "4X4".

NUT BROWN 3.8%

A rich malt biscuit character balanced by a strong bitterness from the hops used.

DUNLOP & HUME 3.8%

A pale gold beer with hop and fruit tones.

BUCKS HEAD DOUBLE IPA 7.2%

Buck's Head has big, bold flavours from the malt, a distinctive hop character and good level of bitterness.

Some of the above are produced in bottles and they are now complimented with a new range:
Titanic Quarter Beer
Cathedral Quarter Beer
Queens Quarter Beer

Great Northern Porter (4%); Special Reserve (4.6%); Hildenbrau; Butler; Linenhall Special; Winter Reserve. Molly Malone Porter (4.6%)
